Adding/Editing Days Off

How do I get to this page?

  1. Log in to Renaissance.
  2. On the Home page, select your initials in the upper-right corner. In the drop-down list, select Manage Apps & Users.
  3. On the Manage Apps & Users page, select School Calendar.

  4. On the School Calendar page, select the Days Off tab.
  5. Select Add Day Off to add a new day off, or select Edit in the row for an existing day off to edit it.

Who can do this with default user permissions?

School Network Level Administrators, School Network Staff, School Level Administrators, School Staff

You can use days off to record holidays, non-teaching days, and other occasions when school is not in session. Renaissance uses this information to calculate the number of actual school days in the school year or a reporting period; this number is used for Accelerated Reader when calculating the percent of the marking period completed in the TOPS Report and when making recommendations for point targets.

Adding Days Off

  1. Enter a name for the days off in the Name field .
    The user has entered a name for the days off, and is about to enter the date range. A pop-up calendar is open, allowing the user to choose the dates. The dates can also be entered in the fields above the calendar. The Apply and Cancel buttons are in the upper-right corner of the pop-up window.
  2. Select the Date Range field and enter start and end dates for the days off, either by typing them in the date fields or selecting them from the scrollable calendars .

    For a single day off, select the same date for the start and end date.

  3. When you are done choosing dates, select Apply (or Cancel to close the calendar without saving your choices).
  4. Use the Schools drop-down list to choose which schools the days off should apply to. (School administrators and school staff will only see the schools they have access to.)
    In the Schools drop-down list, tick the schools you want to apply the days off to. Use the link at the bottom of the list to select or de-select all the schools at once.
  5. Select Add .
    The table showing the added days off, including the name given to the days, the day or date range, and the number of schools the days off apply to. The Edit and Delete links are at the end of the row.
    The days off will be added to the table at the bottom of the page . If necessary, you can select Edit to make changes to the days off, or Delete to delete them.
  6. Select Done to save the days off.

Editing Days Off

You can make changes to any of the information defining days off.

  1. Select Edit in the row for existing days off to edit them.
  2. Change the name for the days off in the Name field .
    The user can change the name for the days off, or change the date range. A pop-up calendar is open, allowing the user to change the dates. The dates can also be entered in the fields above the calendar. The Apply and Cancel buttons are in the upper-right corner of the pop-up window.
  3. Select the Date Range field and enter new start and/or end dates for the days off, either by typing them in the date fields or selecting them from the scrollable calendars .

    For a single day off, select the same date for the start and end date.

  4. When you are done choosing dates, select Apply (or Cancel to close the calendar without saving your choices).
  5. Use the Schools Using drop-down list to change which schools the days off should apply to. (School administrators and school staff will only see the schools they have access to.)
    In the Schools drop-down list, tick the schools you want to apply the days off to. Use the link at the bottom of the list to select or de-select all the schools at once.
  6. Select Save to save the changes to the days off (or Cancel to leave this page without saving your changes).
    The Save and Cancel buttons are below the Schools drop-down list.
  7. You will return to the Days Off tab; your edited dates will be in the table at the bottom.
