This is the starting page for students. Your Home page lists all the software that you can use.
To start, select a product to work in, such as Accelerated Reader or Star Maths.
If you are at home, when you select a product, you might see a message saying that you cannot use that product right now. This means your school does not allow students to work in those products at home. If you have questions, talk to your teacher.
If you see a message that says the product is not available right now, try again later.
In the Assignments list on the right, you will see quizzes that you have taken in Accelerated Reader. When you select one, you can see your score on that quiz.
If you are at home, when you click a quiz, you might see a message saying that you cannot use Accelerated Reader right now. This means your school does not allow students to work in it at home. If you have questions, talk to your teacher.
Use the drop-down lists in your Assignments list to change which quizzes you can see.
Use the Showing drop-down list to show All Assignments (all quizzes), assignments you are working on (quizzes in progress), or assignments you have finished. (Accelerated Reader does not have quizzes that are not started.)
In the From drop-down list to choose whether to see assignments from Everyone or from a specific person. This will only show "Everyone" and your name since students start their own quizzes.
If you want to stop using the software, select your initials in the bar at the top of the page; then, select Log Out.
Notes for Teachers
- If the student is missing one or more Renaissance products, make sure the student is enrolled in the correct class in the current school year and that the class is set up and has the correct products selected. If the student is missing Star products only, ask your administrator to check the student's year; if the student's year is set to Other or an early year not supported by those products, the student is not eligible to take Star tests, so the student will not see the Star products on their Home page.
- If, after clicking a Freckle or Lalilo tile, your students see a message saying "Your teacher is not ready for you to practice", you (the teacher) need to verify your email address. To do that, log in to Renaissance and select the Freckle or Lalilo tile on your Home page; then, follow the instructions to verify your email address.
Parent/Guardian Email Updates (If Available)
Your school may decide to let parents or guardians receive email updates about their child's work. If this is allowed, parents can select Get Email Updates under the product tiles to sign up to receive emails when their children take Accelerated Reader quizzes or Star assessments. Note that you must sign up for each of your children separately - ask each child to sign in and select the link to sign up for emails for that child.
