There are several reader certification targets that you can set for your students. Each one has its own requirements that students must meet to be certified at that level. Rising Reader is one of the reader certification levels.
Certification targets are different from other Reading Practice targets (such as percentage correct, points, and reading range). Certification targets are not available if you have chosen to use the badge target model for Reading Practice targets; students earn badges in that target model instead of certifications.
To earn Rising Reader, the student must Independently read three books with a 1.6 or higher ATOS book level (or 250L Lexile®* measure) and pass the Reading Practice Quizzes, and they must accumulate ten points on books Read Independently.
We recommend that a student recertify no more than five times at this level.
A Rising Reader certification target must be set for students in order for the software to track the students' progress toward the certification and award it automatically.
You can print customisable award certificates using the Certificates for Student Achievement Report.
