On this page, you see a list of books and articles that matched your search. (Articles are not shown if your school has turned off articles.)
Choosing the Types of Books and Articles to Find
If the list is long, you can use the options on the left side of the page to decide which matching books and articles you want to see.
If you want to search for books and articles that are for students your age, click the years that you are interested in under "Interest Level". You can choose more than one. The year names that you see may be different from the example below.
If you want to search for books and articles with certain reading levels, start by clicking Use ATOS or Use Lexile®*.
If you choose ATOS, "All" is selected at first. If you select a specific number, you will see book levels in the range for that number. For example, if you choose 0, the search results will include books that have ATOS levels from 0.0 to 0.9. If you choose 4, the search results will include books from 4.0 to 4.9. If you choose 10+, you will see all books whose levels are 10.0 or higher.
If you choose Lexile®, use the drop-down list to choose which range of levels you would like to find books for.
If you want to find books whose quizzes are worth a certain number of points, click the number under "Points".
If you are looking for a book or article to read right now on your computer or tablet, select one of the options under "Read Now". If your school has myON, you can select myON Books to see a list of books you can read now that matched your search. To find articles that matched your search instead, select Articles; the Articles button is not there if your school has decided to turn off articles.
If you want to find only fiction books (stories that are not real) or only non-fiction books or articles (stories that are real), click one of the options under "Type".
Choosing to Take a Quiz or Read an Article
If you find a book that you want to take a quiz for, select Take Quiz. Then, select the type of quiz that you want to take. Besides Reading Practice Quizzes, some books have Vocabulary Practice Quizzes and Literacy Skills Quizzes. To see all of the steps for taking a quiz, click this link to go to "Take a Quiz."
If your search finds a book that you can access in myON, you can also choose Read Now for that book.
If you have already taken a type of quiz, you will see a green tick and the words "Quiz Complete", and you cannot take that type of quiz again unless you see a Retake Quiz link; if you see that link and click it, a teacher will need to enter a password to let you take the quiz again.
If you find an article that you want to read and take a quiz for, select Read & Take Quiz. On the next page, select Start Quiz to open the article. After you read the article, select Next to go on; then, select Take Quiz to start the quiz.
Suggesting Quizzes
If there is no quiz for a book that you read or want to read, you can ask that a quiz be added on the Suggest AR Quizzes page.
