When you use one of the two target models for older students, there are three Reading Practice targets that you can set for your students: average percentage correct, points, and reading range. (The badge target model for young students does not include an average percentage correct target for students, though teachers can see which students' average scores are at or above 80%.)
The average percentage correct target includes Reading Practice Quizzes and Article Quizzes. The student's average percentage correct includes both passed and failed quizzes.
The minimum target for average percentage correct is 80 percent, which is also the recommended target. The average percentage correct target is the most important target for students to achieve because it indicates that students are comprehending what they read. Average percentage correct is the average of the scores the student received on the quizzes he or she took during a particular marking period. Because some students can benefit from even more success, you have the option of increasing the target to any value from 85% to 90%.
To set targets for your students, see AR Student Targets for Years 4-6 or 7+.
You can also set Reading Practice certification targets.
